Chakras are the lotus-petalled wheels of energy in the subtle body that underline and give rise to our physical form. Typically numbered as seven, they offer a template for the development of cosmic consciousness and, as such, bear the hallmarks of states of being, rather than concentrate physical structures. |
The Chakras described here seek to honour the disciplines of Indian Yoga, rather than their latter-day interpretations. It is because of the astral body is not referred to, such terminology coming to us from the Latin notion of the stellar quality of our energy body and belonging more authentically perhaps within the realm of Kabbalah and Western magic. And while the chakras are not to be found within the physical body, their expressions are nerve plexuses and endocrine glands reflect often the potency of any one particular chakra as it governs both from and consciousness.
Within yogic lore, it is the activation of Kundalini - the serpent power of divine energy - in the base chakra that gives rise to the development of the chakras in sequential order along the route they trace up the spine of the subtle body. In so doing, they open us up to increasingly depersonalized levels of consciousness. But the knots and glitches in the body of the aspirant can take some clearing and it requires a level of discipline not to become distracted with the psychic phenomena and ego temptations that can arise as each chakra is opened.
Energy perceived as Light (color) flows through the Chakra Systems and then extends out from the life form as the individual soul expresses vitality. Hence, a body filled with Light is healthy, happy, and in harmony with the interface between the Physical and Spiritual; therefore who is a vibrational match with its purpose is shining and radiating pure positive source energy. That is what happens in nature as well with all (most, if not domesticated much) living things and that is why it feels so great in that pure positive radiation we call Nature. In this regards, the MOST important in a human life journey is to find one's purpose which generates joyful and ecstatic states along the way.
